A pathway to a complete and fulfilling life
We are a company that specialises in manufacturing and distributing nutraceutical health food supplements that promote psychological and emotional well-being. We feel that there is a place for pharmaceutical intervention but also a place for a more natural alternative. Our aim is that our products are used as part of a planned program of exercise, healthy eating and therapeutic support that will help our clients and customers to find the path to a healthier way of being.
The purpose of the products is not to provide an instant solution to the difficulties you may be facing, whether they are emotional, psychological or physical. They are not intended to replace good diet and nutrition, a good physical exercise program, or any medically prescribed psychological or emotional support but are specifically designed to be used to aid and assist as you work towards a more healthy lifestyle.
In pursuit of Eudeamon
Our belief is that everyone has within them an innate capacity to grow and become. The Eudeamonic life! We believe with the right conditions an individual is able to flourish, self-actualise, grow and meet their full potential.
In order for this to happen we need the right conditions for us as individuals. For example the needs of a 300 year old oak tree are very different from the needs of an orchid in the tropical rainforest. The environment, nutrients, amount of sun and rain all combined in the optimal way will allow each plant to grow and reach their full potential.
As such each person, with self knowledge and understanding, can find the right components to help themselves to grow and reach their full potential. We often find ourselves in less than ideal conditions but as we encounter adversity the things we learn along the way can shape the person we become.
The Eudamonia of happiness is subjective. It is different for different people.
It is important to note that the goal is not a blissful mental state but an active, constant striving towards a more fulfilling life. Aristotle believed “for it is not one swallow or one fine day that makes a spring, so is it not one day or a short time that makes a man blessed and happy.” (Nichomachean Ethics 1098a18)
In our modern world, life can be all about quick fixes and shortcuts to fleeting happiness. Quick happiness is tempting but may also be momentary. Like empty calories, it can feel fulfilling but in reality is simply not enough. We may find ourselves deprived of the very ingredients needed to sustain our wel being.
However, extreme excess can be just as detrimental as deprivation - we can have too much of a good thing. We need to find Aristotle’s golden mean between the two extremes: a balance. Buddhism would call this the “middle path” and would refer to this as a peaceful way of life. Delayed gratification may offer a deeper long term gain rather than instant immediate pleasure.
How do we know what we need to flourish? This is actually a pretty big question. We are often conscious of our needs and wants. Whether that is desire is for our children’s happiness or a pair of new shoes. A little more challenging, however, is working out our deeper desires, wants and needs, whether conscious or unconscious.
Hence "the pursuit of Eudeamon." Take the time and space to explore where the imbalance is for you - whether physical, emotional or psychological. Allow yourself to try different things. Some will work some won't. The power is not in fixing but in taking control of our lives and pursuing what we need to live a good life.
